Dave Zulauf, my neighbor when I lived at 119 Franklin Avenue in the 1970s, was well known for managing many of the local bars and nightclubs in town.

This is a video of scenes from the annual St. Patrick’s Parade held in Seaside Heights yesterday (March 12, 2011). The video starts with pre-parade activities at Station 44 and then video shot from inside Ladder 4401 along the parade route. This postcard, mailed from Seaside Heights on July 14, 1948, highlights the interior of Lou Bosco’s World Famous Bamboo Bar when it was originally located on the boardwalk east of the Casino building. The establishment later moved to Lincoln Avenue and the Boulevard where it thrives to this day under the ownership and vision of John Saddy. More photos are included on page 76 of the book.
