Hurricane Sandy – Seaside Heights “The Day After”

I filmed this early in the afternoon on the day after the hurricane made landfall. The weather was cold and windy, and water still filled most streets in Seaside Heights.

I grew up in Ortley Beach and this is the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. Thank you for posting it. I’ve yet to find out if my grandparents’ old house is still standing on Tunney Ave. I spend all of last summer at the Jersey shore and I’m so thankful that I went down the street to see that nothing had changed… not even the color of the house. I also went to the boardwalks in Seaside and Point Pleasant Beach… It’s so sad to know that the whole area will never be as I remember it.

  3. Poor Seaside. I cannot believe this happened. Jersey is tough, and will rebuild, but this is so sad. So many memories. Thank you for posting this.
