The first two postcards show the old fishing pier at the Casino Pool and Amusement Center. The fishing pier extended 600 feet into the Atlantic Ocean. The third postcard, an aerial view, gives the fishing pier a locational or geographical perspective. You can expand all three postcards with your mouse. After you expand the aerial view look for the elementary school (the town’s second school) near the ocean front just north of the Casino Pool. In the photo it sits behind where the Aztec Motel is located today. You can also see that the present day elementary school, dedicated in 1968 near the bayfront between Fremont and Kearney Avenues, wasn’t constructed when the aerial photo was taken.
